"Articles of Faith"
We are a fellowship of believers united in our common experience with Jesus Christ. We recognize ourselves as being a part of His Body (church) of which He is both Head and Lord. We regard ourselves as not in competition but as in cooperation with other members of His body.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God... there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit...in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory...in the rapture of the Church at Christ's coming... that a person is cleansed from sin through repentance and faith in the atoning blood of Christ... regeneration by the Holy Spirit is necessary for personal salvation... that healing of the human body is provided by the redemptive work of Christ on the cross (in answer to believing prayer)... that believers who ask (in prayer) may receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4... that Christians are enabled to live a holy life by the indwelling of the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit... in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, one to eternal life and the other to eternal damnation.
To honor the Lord Jesus Christ in all our corporate meetings as well as in our individual lives. Luke 9:18-36.
To do all things in dependence on Him so that He might have the preeminence. Col 1:9-19; John 15:1-11
To honor the authority of the Word of God in our individual lives and functions of Tyler Metro Ministries, Inc. II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:16-21
Traditionally in the Church, we have looked only to paid ministers for the meeting of our needs. However, at Tyler Metro Church Ministries, we desire to follow the Biblical truth and pattern that every true believer is a minister and is to be involved in the meeting of others' needs. The main function of the minister at Tyler Metro Ministries is that of "equipping the believers to do the work of the ministry" and is responsible for leadership in the carrying out of the ministries of evangelism, worship, preaching, music, teaching & instruction.
It is our desire to honor the Lord Jesus Christ and the authority of the Word of God in both our corporate meetings and our individual lives. Our corporate meetings involve the form of prayer, praise, and ministry of the Bible.
Yes. While we come from many varied backgrounds, the life of Jesus Christ within us is the basis for our coming together. As a part of His Body we desire that each person who is His child feel welcome. We cannot exclude those whom He includes. Renunciation of former religious beliefs is not a prerequisite to membership but rather an embracing of, and receiving Him is the basis of our fellowship.
